We are a compassionate Christian community fostering a personal connection with God for all people of all ages and expressing God's love through worship, education, mission, music and fellowship.

Our ministries

Senior Choir

The Senior Choir supports our worship by singing every Sunday during the school year.  They have a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels, but welcome anyone who loves making a joyful noise to join them!

The choir rehearses at 7:30pm on Wednesdays.

For some special occasions, the Senior Choir collaborates with instrumentalists or soloists, and they occasionally perform larger works in worship or in a separate concert.

Scott Woods Memorial Bell Choir

The Scott Woods Memorial Bell Choir has been ringing at Summerville Church for over 50 years! The bells were donated in memory of the child of a member. They include 4 octaves of Whitechapel bells and  3 octaves of Malmark hand chimes. The group plays an anthem once a month in church and often accompanies hymns during the service.

The choir welcomes new-comers to add to their numbers. They meet Wednesday evenings at Summerville at 6:30pm and offer "on-the-job" training.

Prayer Shawl

The prayer shawl group meets every Monday at 11am to knit/crochet and share fellowship.  Once per month they have a bible study.  Prayer shawls are given to members and friends or others we know of who are going through difficult times, or who are in need of prayer and tangible care.

Anyone is welcome to join - no knitting or crochet experience required!

Sarah's Circle

Sarah's Circle is a women's group that meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday at 12pm for fellowship, mission projects, and more.

They always welcome new members!

Men's Lunch Group

Members and friends gather monthly to share a meal together.  Please contact the office to learn more!

Joan Frenzel Memorial Labyrinth

In the fall of 2020, a labyrinth was created in the wooded area of our proprty by the Frenzel/McNamara families to honor matriarch and beloved member Joan Frenzel.

A labyrinth is used for walking  meditation. It is a single winding path from the outer edge in a  circuitous way to the center. Labyrinths are used world-wide as a way to  quiet the mind, calm anxieties, recover balance in life, enhance  creativity and encourage meditation, insight, self-reflection and stress  reduction.

Come explore our labyrinth and see how  contemplative practice might work for you to "Be still and to know God".

Session, Deacons, and Committees

Our Session is the executive board that supports all our ministries and missions.

Deacons care for the needs of our members and friends, and support the worship and fellowship life of the congregation.

Our Worship, Property, Finance, Personnel, Adult Education & Mission, Children & Youth Education, and Nominating committees, also support all the many facets of our life together.
