Please join us for our 9th Annual Drive-Thru Live Nativity
Saturday, December 16 from 5:30-7:30pm!
What is a Drive-Thru Live Nativity? As vehicles enter the Summerville Presbyterian Church parking lot, they are guided by luminaries past seven scenes depicting the Christmas Story. Actors dressed in wonderful costumes, in front of beautiful scenery with live animals, present each part of the story! Holiday music and lighting enhance the experience. The Summerville Presbyterian Church community will come together for the annual holiday event to bring Irondequoit and surrounding communities the story of Christmas in a unique way. It's open to the public, free of charge with donations accepted.
You'll want to add this holiday event to your calendar to help celebrate this joyous season!
Once again our church community came together to present our Harvest Festival to the Irondequoit Community. Plenty of pumpkins, harvest corn, gourds and cornstalks were on display on the property and sales were brisk. Back this year were the delicious baked goods as well as a return of the craft items. With the help of our Cub and Scout troops, set up was swift and the sale was a success. We were grateful to all who stopped by to purchase their pumpkins (and treats) for the Halloween season and look forward to holding this festive event again next year!
The congregation of Summerville Presbyterian Church was excited to host our safe fall garage sale. As always, we had a variety of great stuff at great prices, including furniture, household items, knick-knacks, books, children’s toys, and much more. The priority was to continue to keep customers and volunteers safe. We required a face covering at all times while in the building. All sale items were on the upper levels of the church as in the spring to allow for better air circulation. One way traffic flow helped keep customers safe. The number of shoppers in the church at the same time was regulated and hand sanitizer was found throughout the building. Since 1975, Summerville Presbyterian Church has been hosting garage sales. The money raised goes to donations supporting the mission and the operating budget of the church. An important part of the sale, something that our congregation is very proud of, is offering items at affordable prices to those in our community in need. Also, unsold items are donated to various not for profit organizations in the area. The Summerville garage sales are an important means of outreach for our congregation. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe and supporting Summerville Presbyterian Church and our missions!
Celebrating 100 Years!
What a joyous celebration Summerville Presbyterian Church had on Saturday, September 18th. Members of the church community, pastors, friends and neighbors joined together to celebrate the ministry of our wonderful church. A worship service was held at 4:00pm followed by a delicious meal and fellowship. We want to thank all who attended, viewed our 100 year timeline and added to it as well as those near and far who shared their well wishes. We look forward to another 100 years of ministry and service in the Irondequoit community!
In the fall of 2020, a labyrinth was created by the Frenzel/McNamara families to honor matriarch and Summerville Church's beloved member Joan Frenzel. A labyrinth is used for walking meditation. It is a single winding path from the outer edge in a circuitous way to the center. Labyrinths are used world-wide as a way to quiet the mind, calm anxieties, recover balance in life, enhance creativity and encourage meditation, insight, self-reflection and stress reduction.
Please consider visiting Summerville Presbyterian Church to explore our labyrinth. Come see how contemplative practice might work for you to "Be still and to know God".
At the end of each school year, we take the time to recognize all our youth and have them participate in the year end service. One of our favorite moments, is when we honor those graduating seniors. This year Barbie Smith graduated from West Irondequoit High School! Barbie has been part of the Summerville Church family from very early on with our school and youth programs. From service and mission work, to social events this young lady has spread sunshine throughout the congregation. She plans to attend Penn State University to study Criminology. We all wish Barbie the very best with her future and hope to see her during her holidays at home. Way to go Barbie!!!
If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
Having a big sale, on-site celebrity, or other event? Be sure to announce it so everybody knows and gets excited about it.
Are your customers raving about you on social media? Share their great stories to help turn potential customers into loyal ones.

The congregation of Summerville Presbyterian Church is excited to host our safe spring garage sale. The spring sale will be similar to our wonderfully successful fall sale. We'll have a variety of great stuff at great prices, including furniture, household items, knick-knacks, books, children’s toys, and much more.
The priority is to keep customers and our volunteers safe. Wearing a face covering that covers the mouth and nose at all times is required to enter the building. All sale items will be on the upper levels of the church where there is better air circulation. There will be a one way traffic flow and customers will be asked to stay six feet apart when possible. The number of shoppers in the church at the same time will be regulated. Hand sanitizer will be found throughout the building.

Church members were busy today preparing our community garden for the warm weather. Hard work, sun and fun fellowship equals a bountiful harvest (we hope)! Our community garden has 15 plots and operates as a first-come-first-serve space. Fully surrounded by fencing to keep out the critters, we have watering close by. Contact our office if you're interested in a plot for next year.
Our friends from First Presbyterian Church have put together this beautiful performance of Lamb of God. We thank the youth of The Angel Choir, Joy Hire, director and Meredith Needham, accompanist.
